Beating Google Analytics

Nowadays a lot of people swear by Google Analytics because it’s free and its from Google and it must be good. Google Analytics isn’t bad or anything, but I just think that very often it is overrated. There are a lot of better tools out there that beat Google Analytics any day. It all depends on what you want to monitor.

Below are three different approaches to website analytics. They all work service based just like Google Analytics.

Some of the combination’s we used in the past give you a different and efficient way for visitor tracking.

CrazyEgg

Monitoring efficient design and page placement. CrazyEgg is a great webservice for visualizing your visitors interaction. It uses great looking heatmaps and overlays to give you a better presentation of where visitors click and navigate on pages you monitor. It is very helpful in tracking down what elements on your website are appealing and being clicked on. This can help you in make advertisement or sales decisions.

ClickTale

Monitoring visitor motion and behavior. With ClickTale you can see every mouse move and click made by your visitors. It continually stores the visitors mouse position and creates little tapes, so you can watch movies of what your visitors are doing. It even lets you follow what people are entering into forms and at what spots they are aborting sign up or purchases.

GetClicky

Monitoring all round visitor statistics. Clicky Web Analytics isĀ  a easy way to monitor and analyze your blog or web site’s traffic. It comes close to Google Analytics but it difference in some additional addons.Besides the standard tracking GetClicky also has a great Iphone web interface, a real time visitor tracking system and deeper insight in returning visitors and individual visitor stats.
