Last night I was checking out the new Star Trek movie. Besides being a cool movie I really like the special effects. The control bridge looks great and has some impressive looking touch screen interfaces.

The entire control bridge interface was designed by OOOii. A company in California that specializes in building technology interfaces for movies.

This was on my Todo list for a long while now and today I finally got around to doing it.

In December last year I decided to redesign my blog and to be more active in writing posts. One of the redesign targets was to seduce visitors to more actively click on the Social Share buttons.

The ABC’s of a good design proposal

Every now and then a friend or colleague of mine passes me a design proposal from the competition. I’m always interested in checking out how other design companies work and how they approach potential customers.

Just the other day when I was cleaning up my office I started putting together a pile of those design proposals. After browsing through a couple of them, I noticed that they actually really really s*cked. Most of them just cover one page and are one step away of being written on the back of a napkin.

Rounded Corners are Dead

According to a post on InspiredMag round cornered buttons are dead. What do you to think is going to be the leading design trend for 2010? I would place my money on Vintage 2.0: a combination of vintage and the clean styles from web 2.0. No more stains, torn papers, scratches and dirty backgrounds. The Grunge era has ended. Texture is the name of the game. Colorful and happy textures.
